An earphone case with a face.
A concept for AI earphones, from my internship at Glance.
Earphones go everywhere with you. Their case could carry an AI.
Picture AirPods Pro with a screen: a display, an assistant that listens and speaks, and something playful enough to give as a gift.
Click it onto its dock, and it becomes a desktop robot.
In your pocket when you’re out; at home, it clicks onto a magnetic dock on your desk. Indoors or out, it stays close to you.
Not another interface. An inter-face.
We have screens enough asking for attention. The case talks through expressions instead.
One case, many bodies.
The dock is the robot’s body. Unboxing a mystery dock, like a blind-box collectible, gives your AI companion a new one.
In v0.2, the screen slides open like a lid.
A sliding lid felt the most natural way to open a case with a screen. The face fills half the display, so the feeling comes first.
